Cross-Cultural Sharing Circle
This is a special time where our organization involves other cultures with our Native Community,
to share our culture from a Native perspective.
This is one avenue of community outreach that allows our Elders and community members to talk about aspects of the culture that are to be shared. The purpose is to dispell misunderstandings that have caused confusion about spiritual ceremonies and sacred medicines that have been misused.
We feel that by allowing the community to come to our Center, we're opening the door for people to bring their feelings and questions out in the open for dialog. Our hope is that in receiving honest answers, it will help foster a better understanding and mutual respect for all cultures.
The Traditional Native Survival and Cultural Center's Elders have been working with non-Native individuals and groups on a personal level for many years. It's now time to work within our local community and surrounding region to bring together with the Native American Indian peoples that live, shop and work in the tri-State region those individuals and couples that are ready.
The more we understand and learn about our ways, histories, duties and get together to talk about the problems in our homes, with our families, schools, with the environment, health and stress; the things we all face, we can work on the need of solving and improving our relationships and becoming a strong community force, better human beings and for preparing the road for the future generations to come.
Our goal is to improve and enhance our relationships with self and others. This is time for all our relations. To meet in the center.
