History of T.N.S.C.C., Inc.

Traditional Native Survival and Cultural Center, Inc. was founded in 1991 by Tsolagiu M.A. RuizRazo. During this time, we have carried out the work of the center out of pocket and under the umbrella of Native Lifeways, Inc., New York State. T.N.S.C.C., Inc. received our Tennessee State charter before October, 2001 and 501(c)(3) status in November, 2001.

T.N.S.C.C., Inc.has developed and implemented various cultural programs including Native history, health and well being, leadership development, cultural teachings, and lectures on herbs. We have also provided guidance, counseling and conflict resolution for children and parents.

To accomplish this, travel has been needed at times. We have worked to help various individuals and groups of Tuscarora Nation, NC; Akwesasne Mohawk Nation, NY and Ontario, Canada; Onondaga Nation, NY; Keremous, BC, Canada; Nikanic Cree Nation, Saskachawan, Canada; Oneida Nation, Southwald, Ontario, Canada.

The Center has been available and had participation from people from Choctaw Nation, Mississippi; Cherokee Nation, NC; Independent Seminole Nation, FL; Akwesasne Mohawk Nation, NY and Ontario, Canada; Kanawahke Mohawk Nation, Canada; Onondaga Nation, NY; Rosebud Sioux Nation, SD; and Oneida Nation, Ontario, Canada.

Within our local Native community, we have taught our cultural ways which involve everyday living and counseling. We have had, and currently have, a local community outreach person.
